Bankruptcy Ombudsman (the Ombudsman) is an independent authority. The Ombudsman is attached to the Ministry of Justice but only in an economical and organizational sense. The Office of Bankruptcy Ombudsman is a member of the International Association of Insolvency Regulators (IAIR).
